A Summer Cold

It's been awhile since I've had a cold, but I've been feeling pooky since Sunday.  It started in my sinus and now has developed into a full-blown cold.  So I'm having some quiet time these past few days.  I think I may have caught it from Veronique.....she was sniffling and sneezing while she was here. While I love all things French, I think I could have passed on this.  She probably caught it flying over from Paris.  We all know how germ-free those aircraft cabins are.  Not!

The groomer came on Monday to do Duncan and Brie.  Don't they look spiffy?

You might recall just a week or so ago I showed you a photo of my newly planted Crape Myrtle?  Will ya look at her now.........

She's just bloomin' away and there's lots more buds on there.  We've been getting some great rain and then factor in lots of sunshine and my TLC.

Being down with this cold, I'm doing even more reading than normal.  So join me next time and I'll have another book review for you.  Remember doing "book reports" in school?  Did you enjoy doing those or dread when the teacher would assign that task?  Obviously......I loved them.  A lot of work.

See you here next time.......

That is so cute! Brie & Duncan are looking at each other, bet they are thinking "yes we look adorable", so precious :-) And your Crape Myrtle looks happy also!

Book reports I didn't like, but I did like to read especially Nancy Drew books when I was young.

Hope you get rid of that French/airline/summer cold soon!

Terri - I think you and Bob have the same cold - did you meet secretly without me, LOL!!!
His is taking foever to leave - hope you will feel much better very soon. He's back on a plane tomorrow so hope he'll be OK with those blocked sinuses.

The dogs are so cute - bet they are fun to have around. Your little crape myrtle is lovely - they are blooming all over town here, a true tree of Summer.

I've been going nuts the past couple of days trying to plan our Provence itinerary - it's really a full time job getting things to gel on a road trip in another country as you well know. And the prices.....car rental, hotels etc. are so high this year and it's still difficult to find automatic cars at an affordable price. I refuse to spend a thousand bucks for a few days in a big, difficult to park in tiny villages, Mercedes. I just want a little automatic baby!!

Looking forward to hearing from you again soon. Hopefully Oct. will arrive and I'll have it all together. Of course there's still the really tough part ahead - what to pack, yuck!

Be well - hugs, Mary.

Aren't colds the worst? There is a horrible bug going around in Europe. I bet that's what you got. Hope it is gone soon.

Brie and Duncan do look very spiffy! And so does your Crepe Myrtle.. there is nothing worse than a summer cold. I haven't had many but I certainly remember the ones I did have.

There was an article in a magazine called Garden and Guns about water women of Cedar Key. I saw it in the airport and thought of you. They were beautiful photos and it really made me want to visit your area.
