Move Over Obama . . .

bg_head.jpg

Surprised?  You really shouldn't be.  Politicians change their minds at the drop of a hat.  They say this, they do that.  They promise everything......they do nothing.

So yes, folks, as a voter I've had a change of heart.  For the moment anyway unless things change in a major way.  This is my reason why and here's the email I sent off to Obama last evening.......

Dear Senator Obama,
I have been rooting for you long before you even officially announced that you were running.  I had an icon on my blog that said, Run Obama Run.
I have donated to your campaign three times and I have spoken highly of you many times on my blog.  Not to mention all the times I've supported you verbally in public.
But I'm afraid that's all coming to an end.  Why, you ask?
Because I'm a resident of Florida and apparently as a voter in this state I am invisible!  I was shocked and appalled when I learned that you wouldn't be campaigning here for the primary.
Because Florida had the audacity to push our primary date to Jan. 29, all of us are being punished.  Our votes will be useless since no delegate will be at the convention representing our votes.
I'm extremely disappointed in you.  The once-high-hopes that I had for your win have vanished.  And yes, I'm angry.  Angry that you've allowed the Demo cratic National Committee, namely Howard Dean,to sway you in not appearing here.
Since I'm so invisible as a voter in your campaign, I'm now switching my vote as a write-in for Kucinich.  At least he doesn't so easily cave with the big guys.
Such a shame.  I had such high hopes for you.
Sincerely,
An Invisible Florida Democrat Voter
(My name and address did appear at the top of this email along with my email address and phone number)
Not sure you were aware of this.  That our Democratic vote here in Florida amounts to nothing.  I've known for awhile now, but I kept saying,  "No, this can't happen!" but it looks like it will and Obama is allowing it.  He and Edwards both had their names removed from the Michigan primary ballot.  The sample ballot I got in the mail last week still has his name on it, but who knows what that ballot will actually be on Jan. 29 here in Florida.
So seems to me he caved to the big guys big time and as I told him, I'm VERY disappointed that the Democratic National Committe is more important to him than US THE PEOPLE.
I've been to Kucinich's website and I have to say.....he sure represent's everything "I" believe in.  Both my son and my grandson have had their faith in him from the beginning.  Well, they can now add Mom and Nana to one of the one's here in Florida doing a write-in and casting her vote for Kucinich.  He sure as hell can't do any worse than what we've had the past 8 years......and who knows, he might even do better than Obama and Hillary combined.
Ah yes, politics.......ain't it great?
See you here next time..........

I'm not sure really how much of a say any of the candidates had in the democratic party's decision to give any state who did their primary early no votes in the delegation. I lay blame with the democratic party much more than with the candidates themselves.

I also don't really understand why the states are pushing up their primaries when they know this is the consequence. I think they are doing their citizens a disservice.

I am sorry to see the primaries all pushed together as they have been as it's an impossible situation for the candidates and the voters-- all to be the first in the nation. We were all better off back when they stretched for a couple of months. I live in Oregon and it is never on the menu for campaign stops; so it doesn't offend me. I am well-used to it. Kucinich is a good man but not voting for Obama (or Edwards) just means Hillary will get it which seems most likely right now anyway. I am depressed to think that it will be another Clinton running, afraid that she can't beat a Republican in the end, don't want her anyway, but know that any Republican means we'll end up with more Bush type judges :(

I cant even begin to say how proud I am you wrote that ! People say "Oh, Dennis cant get elected" Why ? because the corporations tell YOU the voter someone isn't popular ? I have to admit in 2004 I believed what the media said and I didn't "waste my vote", well this time I'm wasting it and voting who I want.
Who is paying for Dennis Kucinich to recount NH when he doesn't have a chance of winning ? He IS ! Why ? To get the truth!
You may not agree with everything Dennis Kucinich says, but you should at least be allowed to hear him ! Vote YOUR mind!!!ABC{Disney} & NBC{G.E.(who both my grandparents worked for)} I will NEVER support in any way again after being Anti-American and barring Dennis from the debates. Why watch the debates when the only 3 "they" let you see, all agree ?

Terri,

You have done an excellent joy of clarifying for me what is happening in the Democratic Primaries.

I am going to take time to read the website for Dennis Kucinich.

I read that the majority of Independents and even Democrats are having a time like no other in making a decision. That it is normal to swing between Obama and Hillary. I have gone back 3 or 4 times and still don't know which one I am voiting for in the primary. I am leaning Obama right now. Edwards- no way, Breck Boy creeps me out with his pretty boy charm that he learned worked a jury years ago.

I have been for Kucinich since I first became aware of him about 8 years ago...I feel like you Terri...There is something so screwed up about our "Democracy" mow....It is deeply deeply disheartening...! I took this test over at Deanas which was to see which candidate speaks for you and Kucinich was at 93%, and the nearest other candidaye was at only 80% and it wasn't any of the three so called front runners...! Soooo many people say he doesn't have a chance..Well, aren't we supposed to vote for the person who we feel will represent our wishes and be best for the country, and NOT for the person who has the BEST Chance????? I COULD SCREAM!
BRAVO to you for putting it all out there, my dear...I really feel I don't know my country anymore. Maybe I never did!

Hee hee! I love it! And we'd have the first first lady who wears a stud on her tongue. Actually, I've thought Kucinich was the best candidate for a long time, but like many figured I'd be throwing my vote away if I gave it to him. Now that I've read your post, maybe it's not a lost cause after all. It would give me great pleasure to fool all the media, all the pollsters, and every and anybody else who's always telling us how we feel and purposefully sikking democrats against other democrats just to keep their ratings high! What an upset a Kucinich win would be. Even if the rivers in every state in the country burn like Cleveland did years back, he's considerably better than what we have in the white house now! (I don't mean that in a bad way. I think he really is the only candidate who has the interests of Americans in mind rather than his own ambitions.

The thing that amazes me is how many people "like" Dennis, but (as I did in 2004) believe they will waste their vote.
Imagine if even just half the people who like him voted for him? It would be 25% for each of the four and hes the only one saying what needs to be done, and what most voters want.
Any way you can write a letter to your local editor to make them aware your not voting who they tell you is "electable"
Say NO to pollsters !

I can't make sense of the whole thing. It's so hard to follow. But I did decide to vote for Dennis in our primary here, although I don't think it will count for much.
