ABOUT ME...........
I'm originally from the Boston area, an RN and a published author. I've resided in Florida for the past 19 years and moved to an island off the west coast of Florida in February, 2005. Going from a mid-size city to a small town with 800 permanent residents is giving me enough material to write till I'm 100. Reached via four small bridges from the mainland, the island has no major shopping, no movie theaters, no doctors or pharmacy, not one traffic light and the most practical way to get around the island is by golf cart....however, we do have two banks, a library, a market, assorted gift shops and Mother Nature everywhere. Surrounded by water, our wildlife is amazing. We're a fishing village and the main industry is clam farming, so we're also a boaters paradise. For me, it's the ideal trade-off to have to drive 40 minutes for all we don't have here. When my husband retired in December of 2004, after visiting here for fourteen years, we knew this is where we want to be.
I hope you'll enjoy my entries on both the writing life and living here on this slice of heaven. If you'd like to keep abreast of my daily entries, click the envelope at the top of the navigation bar on the main page and an email will be sent to you whenever I update. Hope you'll come back and visit often. ![]()
